How PingWise works, in the words of the people who run it. Everything here describes what the service does today.
Getting started
Monitors
Monitor typesHTTP, TLS, TCP, SMTP, DNS, ping and heartbeat monitors, and the options each one takes.Intervals and creditsWhich intervals exist, what unlocks the fast ones, and what a monitor costs per month.Domain verificationOne DNS record or one file proves a domain is yours and unlocks ports, protocols and 15-second checks. How a check worksSix probes per round, confirmation on every healthy probe, and a down verdict only when continents and providers agree.Maintenance, groups and bulk changesMaintenance windows, groups with one alert per group, pause, notes, and editing many monitors at once.Import from another serviceBring monitors from UptimeRobot, updown.io, Uptime Kuma or a CSV, then compare the two services for 14 days.
Alerts
Alert channelsEmail, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Teams, Google Chat, PagerDuty, Pushover, ntfy and webhooks: what each needs and how it is confirmed. When alerts are sentWhich changes send an alert, what the message contains, and how grouped sites, delays and reminders work.WebhooksThe JSON we POST, the signature header to verify it with, and how retries work.AI explanationsOn accounts where it is turned on, Claude reads the probe evidence of an outage and writes what happened and what to try.
Status pages
Status pagesA public page at status.pingwise.com or on your own domain, with sections, uptime bars, incidents and maintenance.Custom domains for status pagesstatus.yourcompany.com instead of status.pingwise.com: three DNS records, a certificate from us, nothing to install.Badges, status.json and embeddingAn SVG badge for your site, a JSON endpoint for your own code, and allowing the page inside an iframe.
API
