Status pages

A public page at status.pingwise.com or on your own domain, with sections, uptime bars, incidents and maintenance.

Status pages → New page. Give it a title and you land in its editor. The page gets an address under https://status.pingwise.com/<slug>/, made from the title, and starts private, so you can arrange it before anyone sees it.

Who can see it

  • Public: anyone with the address; indexed by search engines if you allow it.
  • Protected: a password, or a secret link with ?key=. Ten tries per address per 15 minutes; a successful unlock is remembered for 30 days. A protected page can also have an IP allowlist of up to 50 addresses or ranges, checked before the password.
  • Private: members of your account only. Members can always open any of the account's pages.

Sections and entries

A page has sections, each with a name, and each section has entries. An entry shows either the monitors you tick or a whole monitor group; monitors added to the group later appear by themselves. An entry's state is the worst of its monitors, and targets are never shown, only names. Entries can carry a description behind an ⓘ, and a section can start collapsed; it opens on its own when something inside it is not green.

What the page shows

Per page: daily uptime bars, the uptime figure, an overall figure for 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days, past incidents (last 14 days), the reason of an outage, and "degraded performance" for slow. History of 30, 60 or 90 days (90 by default) with 1, 2 or 3 decimals. Each entry can override the bars setting. Times are shown in the page's time zone, or the account's when the page has none.

Branding

Brands live under Branding and a page uses one. A brand has a logo (PNG, JPEG, WebP or SVG, up to 200 KB) with an optional dark-theme version, a favicon, an accent colour that must keep 4.5:1 contrast with white, an optional link colour, a theme (auto, light, dark), a layout (compact or wide) and the logo position. The page can carry a Get in touch button (https or mailto) and up to five header links written as Label | url. "Powered by PingWise" can be removed once the account has bought credits.

Language

English, Greek, or auto, which follows the visitor's browser language and never their location.

Announcements

Three kinds: incident (investigating → identified → monitoring → resolved), maintenance (scheduled → in progress → completed) and notice (posted → ended), each with an impact of major, minor or none, and updates of up to 4,000 characters with a time. A confirmed outage opens a draft incident for you; nothing is ever published without you pressing the button. A maintenance window from the monitors side can be announced on the page as well.

Addresses under the page

  • history — the last 90 days of incidents.
  • maintenance — scheduled maintenance.
  • feed.atom — the newest 30 announcements.
  • status.json and badge.svg — see Badges, JSON and embedding.

Subscribers

A page can let visitors subscribe by email to its announcements, with double opt-in and an unsubscribe link in every message; the first 1,000 emails a month are free and each one after that costs 100 credits. Subscriptions are being opened page by page; the Allow subscriptions switch and the Subscribers tab are in the page's settings, and this page will say when they are open to everyone.
