PingWise vs StatusCake
StatusCake sells flat yearly plans with page-speed, SSL and domain tools. PingWise sells prepaid credits and confirms every outage from 10 of 15 probes on 3 continents.
Which one should you pick?
Pick StatusCake if you want one fixed yearly price, invoice billing on its Business plan, and extra tools beyond uptime: page-speed monitors, SSL scoring, domain monitors with blacklist and DNS-record checks, and a Linux server agent. Its Superior plan covers up to 100 monitors at one price, which suits someone who knows they’ll stay at that size.
Pick PingWise if false alarms are the problem. StatusCake documents 0 to 3 confirmation re-checks in the same region. We check every scheduled round from several cities at once and alert only when 10 of 15 probes, on at least 3 continents and 3 providers, fail two rounds in a row. We also report WAF and Cloudflare challenges as “blocked” rather than down.
On price, the table below shows 50 monitors every minute at €7.55 a month here and €16.66 on StatusCake’s Superior plan. If you need fewer monitors, our free 650,000 credits a month may cover you entirely.

Where StatusCake is the better choice
Being honest about this saves everyone time.
One fixed yearly price
StatusCake sells flat yearly plans, with invoice billing on Business. We sell prepaid credits: no subscription, but no fixed bill either. If your finance team wants the same invoice every year, a flat plan is simpler to approve.
Page-speed monitoring
StatusCake runs page-speed monitors on a schedule. We measure server response times, not full page loads. If you track how fast pages load for visitors, StatusCake does that on a schedule.
Domain blacklist and DNS-record monitoring
StatusCake’s domain monitors watch expiry, blacklists and DNS records. We alert on domain expiry, but not yet on blacklists or record changes. For mail-sending domains, a blacklist alert can save a day of lost email.
Server agent and SSH checks
StatusCake offers a Linux server agent for CPU, memory and disk, and SSH/SFTP tests. We don’t install anything on your servers. If you want CPU and disk alerts in the same place as uptime, StatusCake has it.
What PingWise does differently
- Every scheduled check runs from several cities at once, not from one place with a retry.
- The moment one probe sees a failure, every healthy probe checks again, free, before anyone is paged.
- Nothing pages you until two thirds of our 15 probes (10) fail, on at least 3 continents and 3 different providers, two rounds in a row.
- A WAF or Cloudflare challenge is reported as “blocked”, never as down.
- Every alert says what each probe saw: resolved IP, status code, timing and error.
- Prepaid credits, no subscription: 650,000 free every month, packs from €5, bought credits last 24 months.
