MCP server

Connect Claude or another AI assistant to your PingWise account over MCP, with OAuth or an API key, read-only or read and write.

PingWise has an MCP server at https://app.pingwise.com/mcp (streamable HTTP). An AI assistant connected to it can read your monitors, incidents, response times and credits, and, if you allow it, create and change monitors, groups and status pages.

Connecting from claude.ai or Claude Desktop

Only an owner of the account can connect an app.

  1. Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and enter https://app.pingwise.com/mcp. Claude finds our sign-in and registers itself.
  2. Sign in to PingWise, choose the account, and choose Read only or Read and write.
  3. Press Allow.

Pick Read only unless you want the assistant to change things. It is enough for questions such as «which sites went down this week» or «how fast is example.com from Europe». Every owner of the account gets an email each time an app is connected.

Connecting from Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and other clients

Clients configured by file can use an API key instead of signing in: Team → API keys, then send it as Authorization: Bearer pw_…. A read-only key gets the read tools only.

What the assistant can do

Read: monitors with their uptime, incidents, response times and speed, groups, status pages, alert channels (type and name only, never the address or token) and the credits balance with its forecast.

Read and write: create, change, pause, resume and delete monitors; create and rename groups; create, change and delete status pages and their entries. A deletion needs an explicit confirmation from you in the conversation; the assistant is told not to set it on its own.

Nothing an app does is hidden: every change appears in the account's activity log as Claude via MCP, authorised by , and the key or grant it used is shown next to it.

Disconnecting

Team → API keys → Connected apps lists every app with its scope and last use. Disconnect ends its access at once. An app that has not been used for 60 days is disconnected on its own. An API key is revoked on the same page.

What leaves PingWise

The assistant sees only what its tools return for your account, and only while you use it. Your conversation with the assistant stays with the assistant's provider, under their terms. PingWise does not send your data to them on its own, and nothing is shared between accounts.
