Since 16:51 UTC, Cloud provider status is a monitor type. Give it a provider's status page, such as https://www.githubstatus.com, and its outages show up beside your own monitors and alert the same channels. It works with pages on Atlassian Statuspage.
Our central server reads the page at the monitor's interval, every minute at the fastest. No probes are involved, since the provider reports on itself, and it uses no credits. Minor incidents count as a partial outage, major or critical ones as down, and the alert carries the provider's own description and the affected components.
Some providers report «major» for small regional reroutes, so a monitor on their page can turn down often. Details in Monitor types.
