Best Hyperping alternatives in 2026
Six services compared for people whose monitoring is growing: what 50, 100, 250 and 500 monitors cost a month, how many people can log in, how a failure becomes an alert, and what the free tier covers. Every price and feature below comes from the vendors’ own pages, linked at the end, and a column says where we didn’t find an answer.
Who is writing this: Alex, who runs PingWise, one of the six tools below. That is a bias, so the page is built to be checked: the order is ours, by the criteria in the next section, and the tables let you judge by yours; the numbers are the same ones on our comparison page, each tool has a “where it falls short” section, including ours, and if you work at one of these businesses and something here is wrong, email us and we correct it within one working day.
Key takeaways
- In our view the reason to leave Hyperping is how the price steps, not the product. Hyperping is polished: status pages with subscribers, SMS and phone calls, Playwright browser checks, on-call schedules and escalation. Its plans step at 50, 250 and 1,000 monitors, at €24, €74 and €249 a month billed yearly, with 3, 10 and 20 seats.
- At 100 monitors every minute the spread is wide: €16.66 at StatusCake, €20.60 at PingWise, €35 at UptimeRobot, $42 at Better Stack, €43.20 at updown.io and €74 at Hyperping, and $0 plus a server for Uptime Kuma.
- If you rely on Hyperping’s phone calls, browser checks and on-call schedules, Better Stack is the one alternative below with all three. UptimeRobot and StatusCake have SMS and phone calls, updown.io has SMS. PingWise has no SMS or phone-call alerts yet, no browser checks and no on-call rota.
- Free tiers: Hyperping gives 20 monitors at 5 minutes with one seat. UptimeRobot gives 50 at 5 minutes, Better Stack 10 at 3 minutes, and PingWise 650,000 free credits a month for the month you join and the three after it (75 monitors at 5 minutes or 15 every minute), then 200,000 (23 at 5 minutes or 4 every minute).
Pick by what you need
The short version of the six sections below: what each alternative is built for, and the first thing to check before you move.
| If you mostly need | Look at | Check first |
|---|---|---|
| Alerts you can trust across many monitors, and no seat count | PingWise | No SMS or phone-call alerts, no browser checks and no on-call rota yet, and the youngest service on this list |
| A well-known monitor with SMS and voice calls on paid plans | UptimeRobot | Retries come from the same region, and team members are limited on the lower plans |
| On-call rotas, escalation, phone calls and browser checks | Better Stack | On-call responder seats are paid, $29 each, billed annually |
| Up to 100 monitors every minute for one flat yearly price | StatusCake | Confirmation is in-region re-checks, and 30-second checks are on Business only |
| Pay-per-use checks down to 15 seconds, with an API | updown.io | The free credits are a one-off, and one other location confirms a failure |
| Checks inside your own network, at no cost | Uptime Kuma | One location, and somebody has to maintain it |
Why people look for a Hyperping alternative
Hyperping is a good product for teams that tell their customers about incidents. The reasons to look elsewhere are specific, and they are the criteria for this list.
From 50 to 51 monitors: €24 to €74 a month
Hyperping’s pricing page lists 50 monitors on Essentials at €24 a month billed yearly (€29 monthly) and 250 on Pro at €74 (€89 monthly). The 51st monitor moves you to Pro, and the 251st to Business at €249 (€299 monthly). If your monitor count grows a little at a time, the bill grows in steps.
Seats per plan
Essentials includes 3 seats, Pro 10 and Business 20, and each extra seat is listed at €7, €9 or €12 a month. For an agency or a hosting provider where everyone should see the dashboard, that is a second number to watch next to the monitor count.
Confirmation is as strict as the regions you select
Hyperping documents that checks run from one of your selected regions at a time and that, when one fails, every other selected region re-checks at once: an outage opens only if all of them fail, and if any answers normally nothing is sent. How many failures it takes is therefore the number of regions you selected, which it recommends to be at least three; it publishes no default. If you want a fixed rule you can read before you are paged, several alternatives below publish one.
Paying for features you may not use
Every paid Hyperping plan includes phone calls, SMS credits, browser checks, on-call schedules and status-page subscribers. If those are what you use, the price is fair, and we say so below. If you mostly need to know that a site is down and why, they are weight in the price.
Price as you grow: 50 to 500 monitors
What HTTP monitors cost a month on PingWise and on Hyperping, at 5 minutes, 1 minute and 30 seconds, with the seats each price includes. The other four services are in the table after this one.
| Monitors | Interval | PingWise · no seat limit | Hyperping · plan and seats |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | 5 min | €1.16 | €24 · Essentials, 3 seats |
| 100 | 5 min | €3.32 | €74 · Pro, 10 seats |
| 250 | 5 min | €9.80 | €74 · Pro, 10 seats |
| 500 | 5 min | €20.60 | €249 · Business, 20 seats |
| 50 | 1 min | €9.80 | €24 · Essentials, 3 seats |
| 100 | 1 min | €20.60 | €74 · Pro, 10 seats |
| 250 | 1 min | €53 | €74 · Pro, 10 seats |
| 500 | 1 min | €107 | €249 · Business, 20 seats |
| 50 | 30 s | €11.96 | €24 · Essentials, 3 seats |
| 100 | 30 s | €24.92 | €74 · Pro, 10 seats |
| 250 | 30 s | €63.80 | €74 · Pro, 10 seats |
| 500 | 30 s | €128.60 | €249 · Business, 20 seats |
PingWise: one HTTP monitor at 5 minutes is 8,640 checks a month and at 1 minute 43,200, one credit each; a 30-second check costs 0.6 credit, so 51,840 credits a month. The free 200,000 credits a month (650,000 for the month you join and the three after it) are subtracted first, and the rest is priced at €5 per million, the one rate of every pack (from €5 for 1,000,000 to €250 for 50 million, valid 24 months). The same arithmetic runs in the cost form on our pricing section. Hyperping: the plan that covers the monitor count, billed yearly, as its pricing page shows it to a visitor from Greece; billed monthly the plans are €29, €89 and €299. Its free plan covers 20 monitors at 5 minutes. Prices are before VAT. Hyperping’s price includes phone calls, SMS credits, browser checks, on-call schedules and status-page subscribers that PingWise does not have.
The six Hyperping alternatives, side by side
HTTP monitors at the given interval, on each service’s cheapest plan that covers it, per month. “Before alerting” is each vendor’s documented confirmation rule.
| Service | Cheapest paid | 10 × 1 min | 50 × 1 min | 50 × 5 min | Free tier | Locations | Before alerting |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PingWise ours | €5 per million checks; packs from €5 | €1.16 | €9.80 | €1.16 | 650,000 credits a month for the month you join and the three after it, then 200,000 a month | 17 cities, 6 continents | Two thirds of 20 probes (14), 3 continents, 3 providers, 2 rounds in a row |
| UptimeRobot | €9/mo · Solo, annual | €9 | €19 | €0 | 50 monitors @ 5 min | 4 regions | Up to 3 retries in the same region |
| Better Stack | $21/mo · +50 monitors, annual | ≥ $21 | $21 | $21 | 10 monitors @ 3 min | 4 regions | At least 3 of 4+ locations fail |
| StatusCake | €16.66/mo · Superior, annual | €16.66 | €16.66 | €16.66 | 3–10 monitors @ 5–15 min | ~41 locations | 0–3 re-checks in the same region |
| updown.io | €5 pack · 200k credits | €4.32 | €21.60 | €4.32 | 100,000 credits, once | 10 cities, 5 continents | 3 failures, at least one from another location |
| Uptime Kuma | free, self-hosted | $0 + server | $0 + server | $0 + server | unlimited, your server | 1 · wherever you run it | Retries from the same server |
PingWise prices are €5 per million checks after the free 200,000 a month (650,000 for the month you join and the three after it). Other prices are as published on the sources at the end, in the currency the vendor shows there. All prices are before VAT. Hyperping itself is in the full table further down.
1. PingWise
Ours. Confirmed alerts from 20 probes on 6 continents, prepaid credits, no seats.
Who it is for
Teams that have outgrown 50 monitors or 3 seats and want the bill to follow the checks, not the monitor count or the head count. Hosting providers and agencies with many sites. Also small accounts, because the free monthly credits cover more than most of them use.
What stands out
Every scheduled check runs from several cities at once. Nothing pages you until two thirds of 20 probes (14) fail, on at least 3 continents and 3 different providers, two rounds in a row, and that rule is published. A Cloudflare challenge or block is reported as “blocked”, not as down. Every alert says what each probe saw. Team members are unlimited. Checks go down to 10 seconds on every account.
Compared with Hyperping
A monitor rather than a monitor with an incident layer: no phone calls, browser checks or on-call schedules. The confirmation rule is public, 14 of 20 probes across continents, where Hyperping’s documented rule is that every other region you selected must fail on an immediate re-check. The price is per check rather than per plan step, and there are no seats, so 100 monitors every minute cost €20.60 here and €74 on Hyperping’s Pro plan.
Price
50 monitors every minute: €9.80 a month. 100 every minute: €20.60. 250 every minute: €53. 500 every 5 minutes: €20.60. €5 per million checks, packs from €5, valid 24 months, no subscription required.
Where it falls short
No SMS or phone-call alerts yet, no browser or transaction checks, no on-call scheduling or escalation, no server agent. Email subscribers on status pages are being opened page by page. Custom ports and POST requests need a domain you have verified with us. It is also the youngest service on this list.
2. UptimeRobot
The best-known monitor, with a large free plan and flat plans by monitor count.
Who it is for
People who want a simple, well-known tool with SMS and phone calls on the paid plans and a free tier that covers a small fleet at 5 minutes.
What stands out
50 monitors at 5 minutes free, SMS and voice alerts, status pages, a long list of integrations, and an API with read-only keys that most other tools can import from.
Compared with Hyperping
Cheaper at 100 monitors: its Team plan covers 100 at 30 seconds for €35 a month billed yearly, against Hyperping’s €74 Pro. The trade is the confirmation rule: UptimeRobot documents up to 3 retries in the same region before it alerts, where Hyperping re-checks at once from every other region you selected. Team members are limited on the lower plans too (3 on Team).
Price
50 every minute: €19 a month on Solo, billed annually. 100 at 30 seconds: €35 on Team. 50 every 5 minutes: free. Prices as the pricing page shows them to a visitor from Greece; UptimeRobot prices differ by country.
Where it falls short
Confirmation from one region, checks run from one place at a time, and seats, webhooks and PagerDuty on the Team plan and up.
3. Better Stack
The alternative closest to Hyperping’s shape: monitoring inside an incident-management suite.
Who it is for
Teams that use Hyperping for its on-call schedules, phone calls and browser checks and want the same in a larger suite, with log management and infrastructure monitoring from the same vendor.
What stands out
On-call scheduling and escalation, SMS and phone calls, Playwright browser checks billed by browser minute, UDP, POP3 and IMAP monitors next to the usual ones, and a status page. Its confirmation rule is published: at least 3 of 4 or more locations must fail.
Compared with Hyperping
The same kind of product, priced differently: 10 monitors free and then bundles of 50 at $21 a month billed yearly, so 100 monitors are $42 and 250 are $105, where Hyperping charges €74 for both. Team members are unlimited, but each on-call responder costs $29 a month.
Price
100 monitors at any interval: $42 a month, billed annually. 250: $105. 500: $210. On-call responders: $29 per user per month, billed annually.
Where it falls short
On-call responder seats are paid, the fastest interval is 30 seconds, and if you only need monitoring, the incident-management layer is weight you pay for.
4. StatusCake
Flat yearly plans with page-speed, SSL and domain tools; one plan covers up to 100 monitors.
Who it is for
People who want one fixed yearly price and extra tools beyond uptime, and a finance department that prefers the same invoice every year.
What stands out
Page-speed monitors, SSL scoring, domain monitors with blacklist and DNS-record checks, a Linux server agent and SSH tests, about 41 locations, SMS alerts, invoice billing on Business. The Superior plan covers up to 100 monitors at one price.
Compared with Hyperping
Up to 100 monitors every minute for €16.66 a month against €74 on Hyperping’s Pro plan, with more tools around uptime. The trade is the alerting rule: StatusCake documents 0 to 3 confirmation re-checks in the same region, where Hyperping re-checks at once from every other region you selected. No on-call schedules or browser checks.
Price
Superior, billed annually: €16.66 a month, whether you run 10 or 100 monitors every minute. Free plan: 3 to 10 monitors at 5 to 15 minutes.
Where it falls short
Confirmation is in-region re-checks. Logins are limited to 1 or 2 on the lower plans, 30-second checks are on Business only, the status page is a separate product, and above 100 monitors you are on the Business plan.
5. updown.io
Prepaid credits, no subscription, a small and focused product.
Who it is for
Developers who want a cheap, simple monitor that charges for use, with 15-second checks and an API, and who don’t need an incident-management layer around it.
What stands out
Prepaid credits from a €5 pack, 10 cities on 5 continents, custom HTTP requests with any method, headers and a body on any domain, an Apdex score per check, SMS alerts, status pages and heartbeat monitors.
Compared with Hyperping
Pay-per-use instead of plan steps, so a few more monitors cost a few more credits. Confirmation is three failures with at least one from another location, a published rule. No phone calls, browser checks or on-call schedules, and its free credits are a one-off 100,000 at sign-up rather than a monthly allowance.
Price
50 monitors every 5 minutes: €4.32 a month. 50 every minute: €21.60. 100 every minute: €43.20 at the 10-million-credit pack rate. Cheapest pack €5 for 200,000 credits.
Where it falls short
Unlimited team members are not found in its documentation, and neither are PagerDuty alerts, monitor groups, bulk changes or slow-response alerts. The free credits don’t renew. One other location is a lighter confirmation rule than a cross-continent quorum.
6. Uptime Kuma
Free, open source, on your own server. The right answer for some people, and we say so.
Who it is for
Homelabs, side projects, and anyone whose policy forbids sending target lists and results to a third party. Also anyone who needs to check things that are not reachable from the internet: databases, Docker containers, private services.
What stands out
No limits beyond your server, a very long list of check types, every notification channel you can name, status pages, groups, heartbeats, and your data never leaves your machine.
Compared with Hyperping
It replaces the bill and the seat count with a server to run and patch, and 500 monitors cost the same as 5. It checks from one place, wherever you run it, with retries from the same server, so it cannot tell your site’s outage from its own network’s, and it has no phone calls or on-call layer.
Price
$0 plus a server, for any number of monitors. A documented REST API for managing monitors was not found in its public documentation.
Where it falls short
One location, no confirmation from elsewhere, and somebody has to maintain it. Inside the network it is excellent; for the outside view it needs a hosted service next to it.
Where Hyperping is the better choice
Being honest about this saves everyone time.
Status pages with subscribers
Hyperping’s status pages take subscribers on every paid plan: 100 on Essentials, 1,000 on Pro and unlimited on Business, with SMS subscribers from Pro. Private status pages with email access codes and multilingual pages come from Pro, and white labelling with a custom email domain on Business. If telling your customers about incidents is the main job, that is built in. PingWise has status pages, protected and private ones included, but email subscribers are still being opened page by page.
Phone calls and SMS
Phone calls are on every paid Hyperping plan, with 20, 75 or 200 SMS credits included. PingWise has neither today; it alerts by email, Telegram, Slack, Teams, Discord, Google Chat, PagerDuty, ntfy, Pushover and webhook.
Browser checks with Playwright
Hyperping runs Playwright browser checks: 3 on Essentials, 10 on Pro and 25 on Business. If a login or checkout must be tested end to end in a real browser, PingWise cannot do it.
On-call and escalation
Hyperping includes on-call schedules (1 on Essentials, 3 on Pro, unlimited on Business) and escalation policies. PingWise hands confirmed outages to PagerDuty, which has a rota, but has none of its own.
Server agent
Hyperping offers an agent for CPU, memory, disk and network on your servers. PingWise only checks from the outside.
Also considered
Three more services we compare on this site, left out of the shortlist for the reasons given, not because they are bad.
Pingdom
About 146 probes in 26 countries, real-browser transaction checks, page speed and real-user monitoring, from SolarWinds. Left out because of price: €14.33 a month for 10 checks and €60.50 for 50, with no free plan, so it does not help anyone leaving Hyperping over cost. If browser transactions matter more than price, it belongs on your list; Best Pingdom alternatives is the page for it.
HetrixTools
15 monitors every minute from 4 locations on its free plan, every check from several locations, blacklist monitoring, a free server agent, SMS alerts and status pages. Left out because its v3 API lists uptime monitors and their reports but we did not find endpoints to create or change them, and unlimited team members are on its Business plan only. If you don’t manage monitors through an API, it belongs on your list.
Cronitor
Built around cron-job monitoring, with SDKs and per-run metrics, priced per monitor and per user ($2 and $5). Left out because 50 monitors every minute cost $105 there. If scheduled jobs are your main worry, it is the specialist.

How to try an alternative without a gap
- Keep Hyperping running. Nothing here requires cancelling first. Monitor the same sites from both for two weeks and compare the alerts you got.
- Keep what only Hyperping does. If your status page subscribers, phone calls or browser checks live there, you can keep a smaller Hyperping plan for them and move the bulk of the monitors.
- Count monitors × checks, not plans. A 1-minute monitor is 43,200 checks a month and a 30-second one 86,400; PingWise counts a 30-second check as 0.6 credit, so 51,840. That number, times your monitor count, is what a pay-per-use service bills and what a plan step rounds up.
- Import instead of retyping. Hyperping documents an API for its monitors on its paid plans; PingWise’s switch page imports a CSV file of them with a preview of what will and won’t come over.
Run PingWise next to Hyperping.
Import your monitors from a CSV file, keep Hyperping running, and compare the alerts. 650,000 free checks a month for the month you join and the three after it, then 200,000. No card needed.
Hyperping alternatives: common questions
What is the cheapest Hyperping alternative past 50 monitors?
At 100 monitors every minute StatusCake’s Superior plan is €16.66 a month and PingWise €20.60, against €74 on Hyperping’s Pro plan. At 250 every minute PingWise is €53 and Better Stack $105. At 500 every 5 minutes PingWise is €20.60 and updown.io €43.20, against €249 on Hyperping’s Business plan. Uptime Kuma is free on your own server at any size.
Which Hyperping alternative has phone calls and on-call schedules?
Better Stack has on-call rotations, escalation, SMS and phone calls, and Playwright browser checks, the closest match to Hyperping’s paid plans. UptimeRobot and StatusCake document SMS and phone calls, updown.io SMS. PingWise has none of these today and hands confirmed outages to PagerDuty for a rota.
Which alternative has the fewest false alerts?
Judge by the documented confirmation rule. Hyperping re-checks a failure at once from every other region you selected and opens an outage only if all of them fail, so the count is the number of regions you picked. Better Stack needs at least 3 of 4 or more locations; updown.io three failures with one from another location; UptimeRobot and StatusCake re-check in the same region; PingWise needs 14 of 20 probes on 3 continents and 3 providers, twice, and runs every scheduled check from several cities.
How many people can log in?
Hyperping includes 3 seats on Essentials, 10 on Pro and 20 on Business, with extra seats at €7 to €12 a month. PingWise and Uptime Kuma have no seat limit. Better Stack has unlimited members but charges $29 per on-call responder, UptimeRobot lists 3 team members on Team, and StatusCake 1 or 2 logins on its lower plans.
Can I move my monitors from Hyperping?
Hyperping documents an API for its monitors on its paid plans, so a CSV of names and URLs is a short script. PingWise imports a CSV with a preview of what will be created and its credit cost per month, before anything changes. Keep Hyperping running until you have compared the two.
How were these prices checked?
