A monitor form with a guide

New and Edit monitor are one page in five sections, with a guide on the right that summarises each section, shows the monthly cost and suggests a slow threshold.

Since 19:56 UTC, the monitor form, new or edit, is one page in five sections: Basics, Content, Alerts, Request and Advanced, showing only the sections the type uses. A guide on the right stays in view as you scroll. Each row names a section and sums up what you set there, such as «HTTP · every 5 minutes · www.shop.test» or «Slow above 1,000 ms, nearest your server»; a green check marks a section that differs from the defaults, the section on screen is highlighted, and a click jumps to it. On a phone the guide becomes a row of chips pinned to the top.

Under the rows the guide shows what the monitor costs, «8,640 credits a month» and whether that fits your free credits, how many locations check it and how many must agree, then Save and how many changes are not saved yet.

Two smaller things in the Alerts section: the slow threshold now comes with a suggestion for the measure you picked, twice the site's median over the last 24 hours from the chosen locations, with a button to use it; and Your visitors shows which continent the automatic pick is using right now, so «nearest your server» is never a surprise. Every Measure and From option has an info icon with a longer explanation.

Thanks to a hoster whose slow alert this morning came from the wrong continent. Details in Getting started.
